Going on vacation is supposed to be relaxing and carefree, but for pet parents, that often isnโt the case.
Itโs hard not to feel guilty when you canโt bring your furry friend along. Whatโs worse is seeing the betrayal reflected in your companionโs eyes when you come back, even if theyโre happy to see you. One owner is still feeling the sting of their dogโs cold reaction to their homecoming years after dropping him off at a pet boardingย facility.

When Hannibal the boxerโs owner returned from their trip, they expected a very excited dog. But at the Dogwoods Canine Play and Stayย (mislabeled as a vet clinic in the video below) inย Olympia, Washington, they were โgreetedโ by one seriously peeved pup.

Hannibal conveyed all his hurt and anger in one nasty, continuous glare. Standing upright with his paws on his enclosure door, he stayed put, staring as his owner recorded. His โside eyeโ is masterful.
The look on Hannibalโs face didnt budge ย as his human moved this way and that, eliciting the same response: absolute disgust. He reminds us of how the famed Mona Lisaโs eyes follow you around the room, but she never moves.
His eyes seem to be saying, โOh, remember me, your best friend? The one youย abandoned?โ
Millions watched as Hannibal viciouslyย reprimanded his owner with only his eyes. Many warned the owner to watch their back at home because revenge was imminent. Some even likened his facial expression to that of actor Samuel Jackson, whoโs known for his intimidating stare.
โThe furniture, deadโฆ your house shoes, deadโฆ clean floor, dead,โ one viewer joked. Another added, โThatโs not staring, thatโs straight up burning holes into your soul.โ
We certainly wouldnโt want to be on the other end of that glare! Hereโs hoping Hannibal has mended fences with his owner after having some time to cool off. Watch as the boxer practically shoots lasers out of his eyes in the video below, andย share with other dog owners to give them a laugh.
