9-Yr-Old Shows No Emotion After Strangling Nine Rabbits And Two Guinea Pigs To Death

We try to raise our children in the best way we possibly can and to teach them right from wrong. In some cases, however, children are not equipped to make the big decisions and they might even do things that cause you to wonder what they could have been thinking.

I think many people are feeling this way after a 9-year-old boy did what he did at a petting zoo in the Netherlands. It happened on March 11, when a young boy visiting the Rekerhout Petting Zoo in Alkmaar did something so shocking, it’s difficult to speak about.

That 9-year-old boy strangled nine rabbits and two guinea pigs to death while visiting the petting zoo on a trip. It’s unthinkable, but he did it on his own and it seems as if he had just wandered in and walked over to the animals.

There are many different animals at the children’s farm, according to the pictures that were shared online. Along with rabbits and guinea pigs, there are goats, pigs, ducks, and others.

According to reports, the boy went in and targeted over half a dozen rabbits and the two guinea pigs before strangling them to death. He reportedly showed no emotion after he killed the animals.

Since the child is under the age of 12, criminal charges are not going to be filed against him for killing the animals. He will be receiving some support in a special care program where he will be enrolled.

According to a psychiatrist, she does feel sorry for the animals but she’s also concerned about the 9-year-old boy. She wonders how the little boy could feel so bad that he felt he had to do this.

“If you kill an animal in the house; explain to the child why,” she said. “Even if it is an insect. So that it learns that you don’t wring the neck of a guinea pig, which is harmful.”

She also said that it needs to be thoroughly investigated because animal abuse in a child can be a sign of behavioral disorders. She said that there is often an interplay of risk factors, including the upbringing and temperament of the child.

She went on to say: “Something bad may have happened that left a child incredibly frustrated and unable to express their emotions properly. Someone close to him may have died. Or he could be feeling bad because of conflicts at home.”
