Superman actor Henry Cavill says his pet dog ‘saved’ him from mental health struggles

Henry Cavill, the actor who portrays Superman, stated that his dog rescued him from mental health problems.

Dogs are great pets because they are loyal companions who always make us happy with their love. Studies have proven that having dogs can boost people’s mood and mental well-being.

People from different backgrounds, including famous actors, find solace in their pets. A superhero recently shared how his cherished pet has made a difference in his life.

Fans recognize British actor Henry Cavill mostly for playing Superman in popular movies like Man of Steel and Justice League. He also starred in films like Fallout, Enola Holmes, and Mission: Impossible.

Cavill recently talked about the friend who has supported him the most: his dog, Kal. Even “superheroes” require assistance occasionally.

Fans who keep up with the celebrity on social media are familiar with the actor’s 8-year-old American Akita since Cavill frequently shares photos of his beloved dog online.

Last year, he wrote about Kal as a mix of dog, bear, and pig with a big heart, calling him a precious treasure.

Cavill mentioned that he got him when he was just 10 weeks old, and they have been inseparable ever since. They spend so much time together that they start to imitate each other.

The extraordinary Kal. A mix of dog, bear, and pig, with a soul like no other.

Kal is an American Akita and he is truly amazing. I’ve had him since he was a puppy and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We spend so much time together that we almost mimic each other. He has the power to turn anyone who dislikes dogs into a dog lover.

Cavill recently showed up on the British morning talk show Lorraine with his cute dog by his side.

Cavill’s fans were thrilled to see his dog accompanying him during his conversation with host Lorraine Kelly. The actor shared how much his beloved pet means to him.

Cavill expressed, “He is truly my closest companion, we accompany each other everywhere.”

Cavill expressed how Kal has been a tremendous support for his mental well-being. “He has rescued me from emotional and psychological distress countless times. Our bond is exceptionally strong,” Cavill shared.

He knows when I’m busy with my own things, he’ll be nearby — he’s usually nearby, but he’ll be even closer.

Cavill’s strong bond with his best friend is evident as he always keeps them by his side, even while working on set.

Allegedly, he brought Kal along while filming The Witcher, the Netflix show where Cavill plays the lead role.

Cavill clarified that he remained present throughout, preferring to stay in the trailer instead of being on set. This was because whenever he could see Cavill but couldn’t reach him, he would become noisy. To avoid any disruptions during scenes or sword fights, where he could potentially harm others, it was decided to keep him away. Nevertheless, he was constantly present.

Cavill expressed his gratitude in an interview with On Demand Entertainment, stating that the person has been a complete lifesaver for him. He described them as a genuine companion, especially during times when he simply needs someone’s presence without requiring much effort from that individual.

He’s incredible. To me, he’s not just a dog, but a loyal companion. He’s like a person in many ways.

Even “Superman” needs some saving sometimes — it’s clear that this beautiful dog is always there to comfort Cavill when he needs him.
