Teacher And Bride-to-be Proposes To Classroom Asking Her Students To Be Bridesmaids And Groomsmen

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, particularly when it comes to selecting bridesmaids and groomsmen. However, a clever woman found the ideal way to make this decision stress-free..

Alexandra Stamps, a fifth grade teacher, quickly invited her students to be part of her wedding party.

The teacher from Wichita, Kansas, at Science and Technology Elementary School, got married to Mason McDowell in July after dating for almost a year.

Mason, a teacher for third graders, also desired his students to be engaged in their special day.

The couple not only invited their students to their wedding but also requested them to be their bridesmaids and groomsmen.

“I love them and they’re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans,” Alexandra told the Wichita Eagle.

Alexandra captured the moment she posed the question to her students and posted it on TikTok. The video gained immense popularity, accumulating more than 19 million views.

Alexandra starts the video by stating. “I’m about to ask my students to be part of my wedding. It then shows her in her classroom as she tells her students: “Okay, so I have a really important question to ask you guys.

“Khloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, Harley – will you guys be my junior bridesmaids in my wedding?” she asks, to which the girls respond: “Yes!”

“Bryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian – will you guys be my junior groomsmen?” she then asks to which the boys immediately reply with: “Yes!”

Alexandra mentioned that their students were extremely thrilled to be asked, and around six or seven of them burst into tears.

“We spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much,” Alexandra explained why she and her husband requested their students

I thought it would be enjoyable to involve them in the celebrations rather than just having them as spectators.

“I just want to give them this special part of my life. I want them to be part of it because I’m so proud of the hard work that they’ve done this year, and the fact that they’ve not only survived the pandemic — but thrived in it — and watching them grow as people this school year, they deserve to be up there with me.”

Alexandra ensured that she obtained permission from the students’ parents before involving them in the activity. She then presented the girls with imitation pearl necklaces and the boys with vibrant sunglasses. As a gesture of appreciation, she offered rainbow-striped lollipops to all the students after her proposal.

It must have been so exciting for the students to be honored in such a wonderful way by her.

Let’s celebrate the kindness of this teaching duo and send them well wishes for a lifetime of joy by spreading their story.
