If you have a dog, you’ve surely wished they could talk. You talk to the dog all the time, right? Wouldn’t be great if that was a two-way conversation?
If dogs could talk, there would be some practical benefits: your dog might inform you this or that brand of dog food is superior or that it’s way past time for a new chew toy. Fido might explain why he gnaws on a particular piece of furniture or insists on chasing the long-suffering mailman.
But what would be great about dogs being able to talk would be hearing what they have to say about the world around them and life in general? It would be a fantastic mix of profound insights and funny, nutty ideas.
Unfortunately, dogs only talk in children’s stories. In real life, the best they can do is use body language, facial expressions, and vocalizations. People can understand a lot of this, but there have to be many times when a dog gets frustrated by their human’s inability to know what they’re trying to say.
But as with children’s stories, we can always pretend. Even better, we can share it with the world by making a video! That’s what one doggy dad did: he gave his dog a hilarious, perfectly timed voice-over. He gave his dog a ridiculously goofy voice.
Any talking dog would be an eccentric and the pup in his video is no exception: he wants a kitten to keep him company. “You wanted a girl?,” his dad asks.
“Yep.” “A tabby?” The dog jumps excitedly. “Oh! I can’t believe you got me a cat! Where is she?” But first, dad has to finish his story, talking about how he looked at various other animals while he was at the pet store. The dog’s intensifying impatience is side-splitting.
