Elephants are just straight up remarkable. They are the largest land mammal on the earth today and they are intelligent and wise. But did you know that they like music? When Paul Barton the pianist went to this kraal he found out first hand.
The employees of an elephant sanctuary in Thailand knew that their elephants liked music, but were interested to know how they would behave when listening to live music rather than recorded. To satisfy their curiosity, they decided to set up a piano and started to play a beautiful piece of music for the elephant’s entertainment.
To their surprise and mine too, one of these giants began to smile and move to the beat of the music, and that was not the end of his reaction. He did something that left everyone grabbing for their cameras, and the elephant next to him is dancing quite the jig as we can see from his backside!
Paul sat down at the piano and started to play. That’s when this elephant decided to join in! Peter the Elephant has never seen a piano before, but he quickly works out what’s going on and has a go on this magic music box!
No one knew he was going to do this. Watch Peter’s spontaneous reaction in the video. What a magnificent thing to experience. I’m sure that both Peter and Paul will remember this moment for the rest of their days!
