โ€œI congratulated her and I offered help,โ€ Biden said in an interview with theย Washington Post. โ€œWhat would be the point of nastiness?โ€

The two First Ladies eventually met at former President Jimmy Carterโ€™s state funeral on 9 January, with Jill confirming Melania thanked herย โ€œduring pleasantries.โ€

In December 2024, Melania Trump appeared on โ€œFox & Friendsโ€ and said that this time, the transition to the White House would be smoother.

โ€œThe first time was challenging, we didnโ€™t have much of the information,โ€ she said. โ€œThe information was withheld from us by the previous administration,โ€ Melania continued. โ€œBut this time I have everythingโ€ฆ itโ€™s a very different transition this time, second time around.โ€

Host Brian Kilmeade asked Melania if sheโ€™d considered posing for magazine covers once she becomes First Lady again. โ€œYouโ€™re in the White House, and youโ€™re not on the cover of any of these magazines. Do you think that will change? And would you say yes to them โ€” the Vogues, the Peoples, whatever?โ€

Melania, who used to be a model, answered, โ€œLook, Iโ€™ve been there on the covers โ€” on the cover of Vogue, on the covers of many magazines before. We have so many other important things to do than to be on the cover of any magazine.โ€

She added, โ€œI think that life would not change for anybody if Iโ€™m on the cover.โ€

Some viewed this as a subtle remark aimed at Jill Biden, who was featured on the cover of Vogue Magazine in August.

President Biden and Jill Biden will attend Donald Trumps inauguration on January 20.
