Wheel Of Fortune Puzzle Turns Heads Online, Stumps Viewers Who Try To Guess It

Note: we are republishing this story which originally made the news in May 2017.ย A โ€œWheel Of Fortuneโ€ puzzle had the whole nation scratching its head at the same time. The game went viral after a podcast host shared a screenshot of the puzzle to Twitter, garnering more than 40,000 likes and 13,000 retweets.

Hundreds responded with their guesses to solve puzzle, which included the likes of โ€œSuck it dork,โ€ โ€œDuck at work,โ€ โ€œLick it fork,โ€ โ€œPick at pork,โ€ and even the nonsensical, โ€œReturn to Zork.โ€ Some also offered inappropriate guesses.ย Meanwhile, observers watched in amusement as people made their guesses on Twitter, consequently drawing even more attention to the tweet โ€” even from those who donโ€™t even like the show.

โ€œI really appreciate all the replies and quote tweets of this with alternate jokes,โ€ wrote the podcast host. โ€œCanโ€™t get enough of it!โ€ย โ€œ[H]ahahahahaha why canโ€™t I be watching when this sh** happens!?โ€ one Twitter user replied.ย โ€œ[I] hate that show but this is funny,โ€ another wrote.ย It turns out the correct answer, which the sharp โ€œWheel Of Fortuneโ€ contestant guessed within one minute, was โ€œback at work.โ€

This is not the first time this year โ€œWheel of Fortuneโ€ has taken the internet by storm.ย In March, one contestant, known as Kevin, mistakenly confused โ€œA Streetcar Named Desireโ€ for A Streetcar Naked Desire, amusing even the TV showโ€™s host, TIME Magazine reports.ย โ€œAnd although you got the right answer,โ€ host Pat Sajak said to the winning contestant, โ€œIโ€™d rather see Kevinโ€™s play.โ€ย Social media users rushed to Twitter to express their thoughts.

โ€œDude on Wheel of Fortune had to solve this: A STREETCAR NA_ED DESIRE,โ€ tweeted one person, reports TIME Magazine. โ€œHe asked for a K. Iโ€™m gonna go lie down.โ€ย โ€œNothingโ€™s funnier to me than Wheel of Fortune fails,โ€ added another. โ€œUnlike Jeopardy itโ€™s literally spelled out for you.โ€ย โ€œHey, Wheel of Fortune contestant who just tried to fill in A STREETCAR NA_ED DESIRE with a K, DM me โ€“ Iโ€™ll buy you a beer or 20,โ€ chimed in a third.ย Only a few weeks later, a โ€œWheel of Fortuneโ€ contestant captured national attention for yet another entertaining puzzle and answer, Thrillist reports.ย In April, contestants were given the word, โ€œ_O_EYS_CK_E B_S_โ€ under the category โ€œliving things.โ€ย Many were amused to say the least hearing the womanโ€™s guess,โ€popsicle bikeโ€ when the correct answer was โ€œhoneysuckle bush.โ€ย โ€œI donโ€™t know what I was saying,โ€ the contestant later admitted, the Dallas Observer reports. โ€œMaybe itโ€™s because I saw a โ€˜Kโ€™ at the bottom, but Iโ€™m like OK, letโ€™s move on. So I didnโ€™t think about it, but my daughterโ€™s like, โ€˜Thatโ€™s gonna go all over.โ€™โ€
