Akiane Kramarikโs painting โPrince of Peace,โ an ethereal depiction of Jesus created when she was just 8, was recently rediscovered after being stolen, mistakenly sold, and kept hidden for 16 years.
Now 28, Akiane, a best-selling author and philanthropist, painted โPrince of Peaceโ due to a persistent โvisionary inspiration.โ She explained, โIt comes from God. His voice is soft and lovely.โ
Raised in a non-religious household in Idaho, Akianeโs sudden spiritual awakening surprised her family. Her mother, Forelli Kramarik, noted, โWe didnโt attend church, pray together, or talk about God.โ
A vision of a carpenter inspired Akiane to paint โPrince of Peace.โ She recalled, โI spent a long time looking for a [Jesus] model,โ and after praying, a carpenter resembling Jesus appeared at their door. โI told my mother that was him,โ she said.

After years of legal battles, Akiane recovered the painting, which she sold to a private collector. The โPrince of Peaceโ is now exhibited at the Belรณved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas. Reflecting on its return, Akiane said, โItโs still surreal to meโฆ Love is incredibly potent.โ
