Walmart changes plans: Stops adding self-checkout due to customer worries.

Shopping can be annoying with long lines and hard-to-find items. To fix this, stores like Walmart introduced self-checkout lanes and โ€œScan and Goโ€ tech. But some people didnโ€™t like it โ€“ they missed the personal touch and found it too much work.

Randy Parraz from Making Change at Walmart said customers shouldnโ€™t do cashier work just because Walmart doesnโ€™t want to pay. Walmart heard this and decided not to add more automation. Instead, theyโ€™ll hire more cashiers to make customers happy.

Walmart is now more committed to making customers happy and having meaningful talks. This teaches businesses a lesson: being efficient is good, but itโ€™s also important to keep things positive, especially in a world thatโ€™s getting more automated. The human connection is still really important.
