California Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) found himself in an unusual spotlight after appearing in a video Tuesday with a noticeable bump on his forehead. Schiff, known for his relentless criticism of President Donald Trump, attempted to address the latest wave of executive orders issued by the 47th president.
But before diving into policy matters, Schiff couldn’t help but mention what he called a “really dumb” accident that left him with the mark.
During the video, posted to his X account (formerly Twitter), Schiff appeared visibly distracted, admitting that he “banged his head” in a clumsy moment. The California senator’s confession was quick, but it didn’t take long for social media to erupt with speculation and humor.
On Friday, Schiff then revealed that President Trump extended an invitation to him and California’s other Democratic senator, Alex Padilla (D-CA), to visit areas in Los Angeles affected by severe wildfires. However, Schiff said he declined the offer due to the Senate’s ongoing votes on significant Trump nominees.
