Rare Photos Of Hachiko Patiently Waiting For His Owner Have Surfaced And It’s Heartbreaking To See

Hachikō is a well-known dog who symbolizes loyalty and eternal love. He has become a cultural icon not just in Japan, but worldwide too.

The beautiful golden-brown Akita, a pure-bred, came into this world during the late autumn of 1923 on a farm located in Ōdate, Akita Prefecture, Japan.

One year later, Hachikō found a new home with Professor Hidesaburō Ueno, who welcomed him to live in Shibuya, Tokyo. Professor Ueno was a faculty member in the agriculture department at Tokyo Imperial University.

The man commuted to his workplace by train, and upon his return, he would always be welcomed by his faithful dog. Every day, the intelligent canine would eagerly leave the house and patiently wait for his owner at Shibuya Station.

Unfortunately, on May 21, 1925, Hidesaburō Ueno never came back. He had a stroke during a lecture and passed away without ever making it back to the train station where Hachikō faithfully waited for him.
