A Bride Has a Surprise in A Store – Look at What Happens when The Church Doors Open!

Getting married in this day and age can be a lot of fun, especially when the bride and groom come together to stamp their own unique vision for the wedding. People get married in funky places, wear crazy costumes, have hilarious themes, and take photographs that are out of the ordinary. All of them can leave their guests with a truly memorable experience. Some couples really do go out of their way to have a ceremony that is truly personal to them. Whether it be a theme or a place, you never know!

So, that is exactly what Mary Holland Tosse had in mind when she decided to buck the trend of a traditional walk down the aisle, which is usually accompanied by the wedding march, written by composer Felix Mendelssohn. Mary, from Norway, had no intention of using the familiar tune and surprised all the guests and her husband-to-be in the most awesome way possible.

As the doors open, Mary appears arm in arm with her father. What the gathering of guests doesn’t realize, is she’s carrying a microphone behind her back! Mary astounds them all when she walks down the church aisle, flawlessly singing a rendition of “You Raise Me Up,” by Irish-Norwegian duo Secret Garden, covered multiple times by many recording artists and a favorite song of talent shows worldwide!

Her fiancé Ronny Eidsvik is totally gobsmacked, as is everyone inside the church. There’s no doubt the gesture left a few with glassy eyes at the end of Mary’s rendition and in much need of some handkerchiefs. It truly is a touching moment that wouldn’t be out of place in a movie.

The song is now used as a contemporary hymn in churches around the UK and Ireland, but it clearly means something personal to the couple here. Ronny wipes away a tear as his beautiful bride slowly approaches the altar, and then is even more flabbergasted when Mary hands the microphone to her father to sing a verse! Perhaps not quite with the talent Mary has, but it was a touching moment nonetheless!

The all-female choir joins in, as well as a wonderful accompaniment from brass instruments. We’re sure that this is one wedding ceremony that will live long in the memory of all the attendees, and a video that the happy couple will enjoy looking back on in the years to come. Perhaps Mary should audition for Norway’s Got Talent too!
